UUMMMM Gas in the oil?
Ok, I'm not sure what is causing it , but I have gas in my oil. Any suggestions on what could be the problem? I have and 88 VW Golf GTi, 16v, with EFI. I thought that one of the plugs weren't firing, but I checked them last night they are all fine. Now my next thought is that I have a bad injector, but I don't know if that would cause it. Any advice will be appreciated.

replace the fuel pressure regulator. if you get gas in your oil and keep driving it will end up spinning a crank bearing or glazing the cylinder walls causing the car smoke, so fix it!

Does the car smoke at all? Could be that the rings are going bad. Could be the headgasket between 2 cylinders. Might be an injector stuck open.
Get a compression test done, it will give you some more information.

I've heard this can happen when an injector sticks open or leaks after the car is shut off, pooling fuel in the cylinder and leaking past old rings. So yeah, I'm kinda thinking along the same lines as you are..

try this first, pull all of your spark plugs out and crank the car over a bunch of times and have someone watch to see if its pushing out massive amounts of fuel out of the spark plug holes. if it is, then its either a bad fuel injector or a bad fuel pressure regulator. i get alot of these problems in my repair shop and its the FPR almost every time
