2000 Audi S4 Dyno- Take Two!(AKA- S4GASM)
Well guys I decided to change a couple things on the S4 to try and get a little bit more power out of it.So I took the car back over to All Aspects in Chesapeake. Some of you may have seen my last run that yielded 398 whp and 440 wtq with 10.5 AFR's on my 104 tune. Here's the scoop on the setup:
2000 Audi S4 w/ APR full Stage 3 kit
plain RS4 KO4's at 23 psi tapering to 21 by redline
APR Stage 3 ECU
APR 2.5" catless downpipes
APR 3" SRT Exhaust
APR Intercoolers
Hallman ES MBC
SPEC Stage 3+ clutch
Fidanza Flywheel
Keep in mind this is with 80 degree air temps in the shop. I only picked up about 10hp but my torque went up quite a bit. These runs were on my 104 octane tune. Could have run it out to about 25psi but just decided to leave it where its at right now. Pretty much perfect 11.8 AFR's all the way across. I'm hoping to get another 25whp out of it with the electronic exhaust cut outs. All in all it doesn't make tons of horsepower but the powerband makes this car sooo fun to drive. When torque drops off I have 400whp all the way to redline. Never stops pulling especially in 5th gear.

idk if you care or it matters but your best point of your dyno run is always gonna be at 5252 rpms thats where your tq and hp will always cross

The "best point" on your dyno run has everything to do with your torque curve, and nothing to do with how HP is calculated and represented on a graph.

"Best point"? What is your reasoning behind that? Where the graphs cross doesn't tell you anything about your torque curve or how much power you put out.. 5252 is just an arbitrary point on the torque curve, and has nothing to do with power output. Just because that's the mathematical unity point on the graphs doesn't mean anything when measuring engine power. You're not measuring peak torque there, and you're not measuring peak HP there, and you're not saying anything about the shape of the torque curve vs RPM there, so what does it really matter?

Yeah. I plan on putting RS6/ Porsche 997 Hybrid turbos on it in the future. I'm plenty happy with the power it's making for what it is. Especially with the electronic exhaust dumps going in soon. The guys running GT28RS turbos are making roughly 600-675 whp and 550 wtq and only running 10.6's-10.7's Where's guys making 400-475 whp are running 11.0's-11.8's in the quarter. It's been an all around great car to drive. With the power it makes, the StopTech Big Brake Kit and the H&R full coilover and sway bars it handles, stops, and accelerates damn close to a lot of the supercars on the road. I'm still thinking about getting a C5 Vette and going to town with it though...
