Default Test drove the Evo

Yeah, not all its hyped up to be. I really hope the STi is more impressive that this was. It really doesn't feel much faster than a GS-T, very dissapointed.

Not broken in + pig rich from factory + boost taper = not fast. All those people that test drive for magazines need to get a clue!

All cars run pig rich from the factory. My stock fuel maps are 9.5:1 AF around 5k, and around 9.1:1 in the upper rpms. GST's being the same way. But again you just cant say an evo is slow compared to a gst, there is no comparison. If you want to say its slower than a modded gst, thats fine, however the handling and braking abilities will blow the gst out of the water.

Good luck finding an STi to test drive. Even if you find one (there isn't one within 2 hours of here) I'm willing to bet they won't let you drive one. I'm on a first name basis with my Subaru salesman, and they won't let me drive one.

i on the other hand....am personally escorted out of the showroom...

i have driven both....and i will have to say that the EVO does handle better then the STi. as for performance, i like the acceleration of the STi (stock) over the EVO (stock) modding is another story....
