Want to save gas... don't buy a econo-box, buy a Corvette
I'm averaging 25 mpg combined by not driving like a jackass. Typically let the GM CAGS (computer aided gear selector) aka skip-shift do it's job which makes you shift from 1st to 4th under certain conditions, then put it in 6th. Pretty good for a 117k car. Eventhough it takes premium it's cheaper per mile than my truck that averages 20-21 combined.

I get about 40 mpg mixed with my DD honda civic 185K mile car... But damn if your vette doesn't look sexy (and my civic looks like/is a turd)!

My $200 CRX that gets 43MPG is working pretty nicely, thank you very much.
