which octane do u guys put in your bikes , and sorry for asking so many questions but im fresh blood in the motorcycle world and none of my friends have em so u guys are the only ppl i know lmao

depends on the bike really.

if you ride a bike that doesn't have a stupid high compression ratio, then regular is fine.

high octane gas won't make you go any faster. in fact, it'll make your bike run hotter. well, unless you have a crapload of internal motor work done, then the higher octane has other advantages. mostly though, the higher octane fuels just keep knocking and pinging down on higher compression motors. i'd be more concerned with alcohol content at certain gas stations than octane levels.

most modern sportbikes have a pretty high compression ratio, but you can run regular in them just fine. if you're going to be beating on the bike in the middle of the summer time where temps will rise quite a bit, the higher octane might be a lil better, but not absolutely neccesary.

As far as I know, every race inspired sportsbike takes 91+ octane.

i ran nothing but 87 octane in my sv650. the manual said to, and if thats the way they designed it, thats the best way its going to run without internal motor work done. running 93 octane in a bike thats not designed for it does nothing for you except cost you more money on fill ups...
