Looking for some high quality paint
Have my car completely stripped, sanded, and ready for paint. Worked out a deal with someone local and they're going to be doing the painting. My question, anyone have any leads for a good quality paint? This guy suggested the 'ultra' line from Sherwin Williams. I just feel a little wierd using a paint from a company that i'm used to seeing make paint for houses. Also, if anyone could get me a deal on some paint it would be much appreciated (and rewarded ) I'm looking for about 3 quarts of a silver, 2 of a black, gallon of primer, and a reducer. Dual stage (guy painting the car is providing the clear) Thanks!

...only the best. Of course, you'll pay about $32 an ounce (a little less then a shotglass).
A more practical paint would be PPG or Dupont... it's what most manufacturers use. Honestly though, there really is no "inferior" brand of paint. Paint is only as good as the painter that is applying it.

Re: Looking for some high quality paint
i personally like dupont chromabase or chromapremier. ppg is good stuff as well just dont get the cheaper brands that they make cause you will have matching problems later and the clearcoat is a little less quality. ive never used house of kolor but ive heard its nothing super special and its pretty much overpriced if your not getting a custom mix.

Dupont is a nice paint line and very user friendly ...
B.A.S.F. is also another good company ///
SW is often a slower dryn paint if you need to nib some trash outta the base to get a GOOD outcome. not so user friendly ..
what CLEAR IS THIS GUY USEING /// what color are you gonna paint the car .. does he have a paint booth .
B.A.S.F. is also another good company ///
