By this I mean the actual bumper itself. Are you allowed to cut it/modify it, or hell removal of it at all? If so do they check for it during state inspection etc, or is it just a fine when you get pulled over?

Again this is the actual bumper itself, not the bumper cover which is what everyone always refers to as a bumper. I mean the big old 15mph or whatever block of crap underneath.

u need the 5 mph foam pad and bumper support. the bumper cover is just for looks and not needed to pass a safety check.

I havent had any of that stuff in my car for 2 years. I cannot imagine a cop trying to check for that if he pulls you over.

Well I was gonna trim the "black" lip in the mouth out, and also I have a FMIC coming so I dont know how much I might have to trim out for that as well, so it might be fairly easy to see, I dont know, so I didnt wanna go burning bridges.

As long as you have your License plate displayed somewhere where the cop cane see it and all your turn signals are working properly you should have no problem. I know some people that drove around with now bumper at all and let their turn signals hang down and stuck their license plates in the dash.

You shouldn't have any problem at all. Because think about all the people with huge mouth body kits. As far as I can tell there should be no law whatsoever indicating how much plastic you need on your bumper cover. (Almost like saying Z3 fenders could be illegal)

Let the FMIC represent.

NO! NOT THE BUMPER COVER! I mean the actual bumper itself. The bumper cover I know I can cut and be fine, its the physical bumper itself I was concerned about. I didnt want there to be a problem when I get my state inspection etc done, or from local cops.

I don't think it would be much of a deal unless you get in a wreck. I've never had anyone look @/under my bumpers when I've been pulled/inspected.

im pretty sure you can cut as much plastic off as you want
i think you would be fine trimming it or taking it out completely. if you wanted to get really creative you could make a smaller one out of whatever they make rollcages out of.

I don't see the problem in trimming the impact bar. But if you end up having to remove it, get someone to fab up a tubular one for you. It's just added insurance should you have a collision.

just my .002 cents
