Tinting

Tinting
I have a 1999 White Eclipse Spyder with a black soft top. I've been thinking of tinting the windows to darken them. However, I'm skeptical about how dark I should go.
I am positive I don't want opaque tint like limos have. (though black and dark is somewhere in the ballpark)
Also I've never tinted windows before and I'm not sure if it's something I can easily do or if I should hire a professional to do it.
Any suggestions on where to start would be greatly appreciated. Be it a local shop near the Chesapeake area or where to get tint and understand how to apply it to the window.
Also, does anyone have any suggestions on the translucency of the tint?
Thanks for your time, effort, and opinions
Joe

Re: Tinting
Where are your plates registered at? If they are virginia then I wouldn't do anything over legal percentage. East Coast Window tint did my windows on my 4 door Civic and left tint shavings from the old tint everywhere! They also left 2 razors in the back seat area, where my 4yr. old soon picked it up and showed it to me East Coast Window Tint
