OKAY, the BAD:
current engine is out of a '72 CJ. Guy I bought the engine from said that it had a recent rebuild, bored '060 with a cam. I got suckered. Engine has blow-by, a "tap", and a bad valve seal on the #6 cylinder. I have to swap the plugs around about every 1,000 miles to keep #6 from fouling out.
has a problem starting when it's hot. Even though the carb is less than a year old, I think it's leaking down, "flooding" the engine. BOTH of these problems may be fixed, because this week I'm installing another 4.2 I-6. I don't know the condition of this engine, but it does have a Weber carb installed on it. Either way, don't expect this vehicle to pass emissions.
Transmission is the Peugot BA10, and of course this means it's a piece of garbage. 1,2, and 3 are a little noisy. 4 is quiet, but 5 whines occasionally on the freeway.
Honestly, I love this jeep, and if I didn't have this deal fall in my lap, I'd continue on improvements to make it a GREAT vehicle.
because of it's age, and "condition", I'm honestly open to offers at the moment, so if this sounds like something that would fit your needs MAKE AN OFFER!!!!
