I would just try and keep it under the 95dB limit.

I was reading that it had to be the same as stock!
Most states have db levels but many states don't!
They need to get on motorcycles if they want to ticket cars

It has nothing to do with measured db in VA. If your aftermarket exhaust is subjectively louder than stock, it is illegal. Basically if a cop says it sounds louder than what he thinks it should be, he can give you a ticket. The law is complete b.s. as there is no quantitative evidence required for a conviction.

I a been told the any mods to exhausts is ILLEGAL but the the ticket is cheap and they dont pull u over unless the are bored or u r driving like an a-hole so I say go for it because even if the pull u they normally do give u the ticket they just warn u, just dont go around flooring it all the time and u will be fine

My exhuast on my bike reads over 122dB on my sound level meter at 10 feet when sitting in my driveway. What's really amazing, is that it is louder under load.

With a test pipe it will be louder than the 93dB it is rated at.
