building another supermoto
well, i was given a cagiva wmx250 (italian company, in case ya didn't know) that's complete, but the clutch exploded. this isn't your ordinary motocross bike, it's a fairly sweet lil ride, but getting parts is a nightmare. sooo...
i found a sweet deal on a ktm 250 2 stroke moto-x motor
($100!), and that'll be taking the place of the busted motor. haven't decided yet whether i'm gonna lace up some 17" rims or try and fit sportbike rims to it, but thats awhile away anyway, have to get it up and running first.
anywho, i'll post pics of progress as i do work to it. no rush, just something to play with over the winter.
as it sits right now i jusnked the stock plastic. gonna revalve the suspension (it's ohlins!!) for road use, get the motor situation worked out, and go from there.
here's what i'm looking at right now:
should be a sweet (and cheap) supermoto by the time it's done.

Re: building another supermoto
s'all good. canceled the cagiva supermoto plans. gonna part it out on ebay. apparently it's rare, and some of the parts are worth quite a bit of money.
picked up another dirtbike to do the supermoto thing to, figured i'd use the money from the cagiva to get the new bike running again and get some 17'' rims for it. i'm just gonna relace the stock hubs to 17" rims, it's ALOT cheaper than buying ready-to-go wheelsets.
should look something like this when it's ready to go

yeah, i got that klx from mitch. it's only a 300, but it probably only gonna get used for stunting on honestly, maybe sometime i'll put it on the road.
that 450 is sweet. since it's running slicks, i'd have to assume it's been raced. at the very least, it may need the top end of the motor freshened up, but that's not a big deal on that bike. thats a sweet lil bike for 3g's.
that started life as a moto-x bike, wonder if he did any re-valving of the suspension.
