Im trying to get up to go to the Blue Ridge Parkway with the wife and get in some nature photography with nice fall foliage. My question to yous guys is have the leaves started changing there yet because the really havent down here. If not usually when twards the beggining of November?

Cool thanks guys. I have no Idea where we are going to go yet. One of the girls down here said she went up there on one of the trails and it lead to a big waterfall somwhere. The last time I was there was in middle school so I dont really remember shit. Id like to be able to get some shots from the overlooks whitch shoulnt be a prob but I dont know where to go to get on any hiking trails. Are they everywhere or only in certain areas?

 

they are everywhere. i was meaning where are you gonna get on the parkway?


there are alot of ways, but it would be best to take I81 to I77, and get on it in NC, and take it all the way back up to peaks of otter area. looking at 200 miles though, it is a FULL day drive back up it, not counting the ride to NC.

or get on it in Floyd, we got alot better overlooks then alot of the counties it goes through. only takes about three hours to make it to POO from the Rt8 junction.


was the waterfall you describe called Twin Falls? off of the parkway?


its closed, too many people jumped off it and died. morons.....

 

If you want some nice scenic photographs, I can help you out with that.. I know of a lot of nice spots.

 

Ill def. bring this post back when i go then and get some directions from you guys.

Im not too sure of the falls she was talking about but Id like to find atleast one I can get some pics of.

And I prolly would get on in floyd.

 

thats cool, you will be going right by my house depending on the time and all, i will ride it with ya a little. beware of leaf peepers though. people do 15mph and cause wrecks all teh time.

On the falls thing.. I know there are some beautiful falls out by camp alta mons. It's a good 1 mile hike to get to it though. But it is completely worth it.

Here is a picture of the falls I found real quick. There is a lot more to it then shown in the picture.. The falls is probably about 4 stories high if I remember correctly.
