Obviously driver aggressiveness has a lot to do with the outcome but you can definitely tell the BRZ/FRS has more power available.

I'm surprised they didn't use the mazdaspeed Miata.

If they threw an S2k or a rx8 in the mix the brz wouldn't have looked so hot

They don't make the S2000 anymore and they sold for almost $15k more than a base BRZ in their final years. I would hope they'd be faster.

Give me a few years and I'll probably replace the Miata with a used FT/BRZ

The cost of a s2k now is around 10-15...but you're right when they came out very expensive

Agreed.. im waiting till this Z get paid off or a little lower and I'm pulling the trigger on a Miata..which will probably lead to the sale of the Z.

but on a real note, from what i know about nc miatas, they make about 158 hp. i know the brz has more than that and having the boxer style motor, lower center of gravity, yielding better handling. but more in miata news, i read that the next generation MX-5 miata (ND) is in the works, shedding some weight and returning to its roots as a small, light British-inspired roadster. have not seen a concept yet but i am hoping for good things. and for the love of all things holy i hope they do away with these damn fenders from the RX-8.

the toyoburu isnt in the same class as the s2k or rx8. for the money the FRS/BRZ is a great car. its not fast but thats not what it was built for. let the aftermarket take car of that. or an old fashioned LS1 swap. its a great time for cars. Affordable fun cars are abundant.
