Anybody going to the American Le Mans Series race at VIR (Sept 12-15)?
Anybody going? These will be the fastest cars to ever race at VIR,should be completely amazing.
More info:http://virnow.com/alms/
Here's on-car video of a Prototype class car running a 1:35ish lap on Full when they tested earlier this year(they'll run the Grand Course for the race).Bananas!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_Z2mHZt-0k&feature=player_embedded *update*
On Sunday morning from 8-noon there will be a supermoto track day on the kart track,so we'll be getting up after the race and doing this.Anybody interested,PM me for more info. It's open to ANY kind of dirtbike/supermoto bike, with minimal gear requirements(helmet, gloves, boots and motocross or street/sportbike pants/shirt).
From Thursday-Sunday we'll be camped along the backstraight fence in the South Paddock.Come by and say hi,grab a beer.

Was going to, but the high cost plus extraordinary amount of people that I'm sure will be there have made me decide not to.

This will definitely be the biggest spectator event they've had. From what I understand they're eliminating the RV area inside the North Course to make more room for parking, and even then will need offsite parking with shuttle services.I definitely wouldn't want to try to come in or out on Saturday(and probably Friday).
..................That being said, come on!Ride down with Todd, problem solved. The beer will make you forget all your worries.

Damn wish I would've known about this. Used to love seeing these guys down in FL...the Audi TDI's are so freaking beast.
Every other car is loud as hell and then the Audi's drive by at same or higher speeds and they just purr.

Either way, anything running in the 1:30s at VIR Full is pretty fucking spectacular.Seeing them on Grande is even better.
