I Have a 96- 98 b18c itr engine i put in my 93 eg and the harness that came with the engine is for a right hand drive car can i use a gsr harness? or do i need to get an type r harness, if so where can i find one?

Stop bumping your own thread.

A GSR harness of the same OBD generation will work for the ITR engine, yes. There really isn't much difference between a GSR engine and an ITR engine when it comes to wiring and sensors.

Ok so you have a 93 civic hatch that you are putting a 96-98 spec ITR in (want to make sure I have the information) now you have options, and some are at no cost and some will cost you a little. one you can use the factory civic engine harness and modify it a little to allow the plugs to reach the sensors on the ITR engine. Two you can use a 96-98 GSR harness which will give you all of the correct connections at the correct length.

Now with the GSR harness you will not use all of the plugs because the ITR only has a one wire vtec(does not have the oil pressure switch) and the GSR also has a sensor on the intake manifold that is for the dual butterfly.

Now you will still have to run the vtec wire from the pass side shock tower into the cab of the car unless your hatch is a Si.

yea it helps thank you, too bad i ordered a lhd itr harness its still the same correct? just reverse? do i still have to wire in vtec even if i ordered the left hand drive harness?

Yes, it should work fine. Usually the subharness locations are different because some of the things stay the same (between LHD and RHD) and some don't stay the same.. You can use the RHD harness you already have but you'll usually have to unloom the harness and extend some of the stuff to get to the proper side of the car. That's what a lot of the SR20DE-T Nissan guys have to do when swapping into USDM 240s.

If the LHD harness you just ordered is from a USDM source, you'll still have a few plugs extra, for the same reasons just listed above for the GSR harness (but without the secondary butterfly plug).

If the harness you bought is from a LHD USDM ITR, you should have everything you need regardless of whether you're using USDM or JDM ECU. The USDM ECUs don't require a VTEC pressure switch input to engage VTEC.
