Default August 25th and 26th HPDE at CMP

Obviously too late to sign up, but is anyone on here going? It's with Turn1, I think it's CMP's own track day organization. There was a groupon deal for it a few months ago, it was a killer deal at like $160 for two days. This will be my first HPDE, I've done a lot of drifting but no real grip driving.

CMP is a nice place, fun high speed turns.

Youll be in group 1, or Green or however they rank it .... just take in what your instructor has to say, im sure you will do just fine. You obviously arnet scared of your car (which you will find alot of people are in group 1).

Thats super cheap as well, just wish it wasnt 7 hours away. I highly recommend any NASA event or TrackDaze event at VIR. Lots of elevation changes (you may of drifted the patriot course before so you probally already know)

Have fun, keep it rubber side down

Yeah, I'm actually really looking forward to having an instructor to tell me what I'm doing wrong haha. Every Driftwater I've tried gripping for a few laps, it's always been on street/drift tires so I get to the limit of grip pretty fast but it's fun trying to keep it right on the edge of not drifting.

I really want to drive VIR but it's so expensive! I drifted Patriot at Octoberfast a couple of years ago, it was like $120 for both days. I talked to an hpde driver and he said it was around $400 for both days.

As far as prep goes, I got some 255/40 RA1's from craigslist with a few heat cycles on them so I'm not worried about grip, and I'm running j30 brakes with carbotech xp10's up front so I don't think stopping will be a problem either. The only thing I'm worried about is my welded diff, but a few people on Nissan Road Racing run welded diffs so it might be fine.
