JDM GSR issues
So my old blue hatch has a jdm GSR in it now. We are trying to get this thing to run right. Here is the problem.
At start up the car runs fine, idles kinda low until u hit the gas. When you hit the gas it idles at 1200. When you push the gas a little bit to get going, the motor only revs to 2500-3000 and it just bounces up and down. The IACV was replaced twice with brand new ones. It is throwing code 14 for the IACV but it has been replaced twice. WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON WITH THE THING!!!!
Motor: JDM GSR, Skunk2 pro series intake manifold and blox throttle body.

Re: JDM GSR issues
Are you running the GSR ECU? If you are, you'll need to get the IAB (secondary butterfly control) disabled in the ECU program. You should also get tuned for that intake manifold and throttle body. 'm guessing your throttle body is too large for the IACV to be able to properly control the bypass airflow. Tuning would help a lot. You can't just change to a larger throttle body and expect the existing ECU tune to work properly.
You should really try and actually troubleshoot the problem though instead of just blindly replacing parts that most likely aren't the actual problem.

Re: JDM GSR issues
On the stock gsr ecu, vtec didn't even work. I put my chipped p28 on it and it runs fine. Besides the bucking for the code 14. So ur saying the throttle body. Cause that exactly what I told him. It doesn't have an idle screw or a fast idle valve.

Re: JDM GSR issues
Im putting the stock TB on it tonight and see what it does from there. Along with putting new plugs in it.
I can give it a little gas and then the car will only go to about 2500 and just bounce around. I have to give it more than 50% throttle to get it to go above 3000.

Re: JDM GSR issues
Wouldnt it throw a CEL? It isnt throwing that CEL, its only doing the IACV code. I disconnected the TPS and then it threw the code. But then again, when i did unplug it, nothing changed. MAP sensor is good cause when i unplugged that one the car died. This thing has got me in a loooop.
