i have to get my rear fenders rolled on the 540 to fit the 19's i want - but i havent the first clue on what to do - i have a DIY write up - but i dont want to have my 1st time being on my 540

 

Brian (VT Spec V) rolled his own fenders w/a rubber hammer.

 

lol i wont be using that method - it has to be a real roller tool and some1 that knows how to use it

 

John Sterling with the silver supra had his fenders rolled, whoever did it did a damn good job too.

 

if it rubs...then it just wasnt ment to be on there. thats my theory =P

 

ah - horrible theory

 

1. cat pictures are silly
2. "Rubbings racing" is a quote from Days of Thunder, the movie
3. go get a rolling pin from Crate and Barrel, etc
4. a rolling pin for cooking is better than a baseball bat, because the rolling pin is softer and less likely to crack the paint at the contact points
5. mount the wheels and tires
6. put the pin in between the tire and the inner fender and roll and push at the same time
7. go slow and you can roll them great
8. your objective is to push the inner lip up, from a horizontal angle to like an 80degree angle

p.s. BMW and no 20's? what are you unemployed? rolling on teenage rims is silly

 

my friend got his fenders rolled up in NOVA and they did a really really good job, the fenders look stock the only way to tell is look along the side of the car or at the huge ass tires he has on there. i will post the name of the place when i get it.

 

yeah, I rolled mine with a rubber mallet. They turned out great, I couldn't use the fender rolling tool (aka a baseball bat) b/c my car is too low and I couldn't get the thing inbetween the tire and the fender. BUT...the way u are supposed to do it is by taking the bat and sticking it in there, have someone hold it there and then move the car a few feet by driving it. As the car moves the bat rolls with the tire, which in turn rolls the fender up. But, if u can't get a bat in there then I suggest the rubber mallet, I had no problems when I did it. BTW-they do actually make a fender rolling tool, but its pointless to spend that much money on when u can go Instant Reply Sports in CBurg and get used wooden bat for like 10 bucks, its the same thing for a lot less money.

 

use a jack under the car, then you can get the bat in there ( I prefer a rolling pin because it is softer wood)

Spec V = .5 too much displacement :-)
