Driving Light Question
I bought cheapo driving lights from Wal-Mart for when LOCO and I go screaming down backroads. I ones I got are EXTREMELY bright (if they're aimed right, they illuminate more than my headlights.) The downside is that they are remote control only, and for some reason they keep being randomly turned on.
I leave the remote in the car so I know I'm not turning them on. My only guess is that car alarm remotes might be triggering them. I've already had to buy a new battery because of it.
My question: The red wire (power) runs to the control box for the remote. Out of that box comes a white wire (to the lamps) and a blue antennae wire.
If I cut the red wire and splice it to the white one, with a conventional switch (getting rid of the remote), would the lights still work? Should I bust open the box and check for anything, or just go for it?
