Profec B clicking sound
I just bought a Profec-B boost controller. On low or high selection the unit clicks very rapidly at any boost. Like a relay would click if power was tripping it. Also I turned it to max boost and I only get 2 pounds more than stock. Does anyone know what is going on or did I get a bad unit? This is installed on a stock sr20det.

the clicking sound is the unit reading the boost pressure.
how do you have the controller hooked up? make sure you have the hose going into the solenoid comes from the intake manifold, and the other fitting goes to the actuator ofcourse. i have seen a sr20det not boost above 6psi because the cat was clogged and broken up. perhaps you should look elsewhere for the answer.

The "out" line is going to the Wastegate. The "in" line is going to the intercooler piping. I don't have a cat. So you are saying that this noise is normal? It sounds really bad. Does yours or one you have seen before do this too? Thanks for your help.

i have a profec a. the vac box clicks whenever the power is on. if the car is running, i can't hear it. another thing i have seen is a bad turbo not going past a certain boost. where are you located at? i'm in roanoke if you want to get together i can look at it and tell you what i think.

Im in the VA BCH area. This thing starts clicking on acceleration. Loud enough to hear even at this point. It is mounted on the driver side fire wall though so it may be easier to hear because of this. I called Heavy Throttle and they said this sound is normal too. And to turn up the Gain for more boost. So I will try this tonight and see if I can get 10PSI out of it. It may also be my turbo since it is stock. More reason to get a T28.

Why would you get a t28? not much of an upgrade. that a austrailian kinda of upgrade. the boys downunder are scared of big turbos! they always think anything bigger then a t28 is crazy because of lag. yeah i care about lag, which isn't a problem if you are at 4000rpm or higher. just my opinion...go with a nice big t04e for an upgrade. you will want more then 320hp that the t28 offers.
