1989 BMW 525i 5 speed M20 (worth a look)
Well, I am putting this car out there to see if anyone has serious interest in it. I am not extremely motivated to sell as I really enjoy the car.
I am not usually open to trades.. but I am open to trades for stock japanese vehicles that have been taken care of.
Well on to the Goods..
The car is a 1989 525i 5 speed manual with 226k miles. Don't be scared, this is one of those cars that was maintained and I feel will see 400k if you take care of it. It runs and drives excellent.
I have the records for it from new.
I just drove it about 1000 miles in the last week.. it is extremely reliable.
It has the following new parts (and many more).
18" Staggerd Polished M parallel wheels 225/40 front 275/35 rear
New clutch
Valve Adjustment
Timing belt
Water pump
Vogtland lowering springs
KYB GR2 shocks
The suspension has been completely rebuilt. (every bushing has literally been changed)
New drive belts
New radiator
Thermostat
Hoses
Battery
European Clear lenses
Active Autowerke polished E brake and shift knob
Recent respray delphin gray
Change muffler to 540i unit
Euro moldings (notice there are no reflectors on the bumpers)
So many other things have been done as well!
Car is mechanically ready for another 60-70,000 miles for a new timing belt at that time.
The car has a wicked rake stance to it that grabs eyes.
You dont come across this too often.
Also, this car can be run on 87 octane and performs fine.
I want $4,500 cash. Dont quote me any blue book BS either..
Every other 525i i see needs 3,000 worth of work. This one needs only a new driver.
This is a southern car.. there's 0 rust.
It does have a crack in the windshield.

Thanks for the compliments guys.. it's not perfect, but it's a unique car. Definitely as good as it gets for the age. The body style is timeless.
On my recent trip it averaged 25-27mpg at 80
I will entertain trades for stock Maximas/Honda accords and Preludes/Toyota camry/Lexus ES300. MAYBE a Tacoma pickup
