does anyone know anybody who has purchased a bike from overeseas? i know if the price looks to good to be true it probly is. thanks guys for any input

 

looks like the ebay scammers have tried to go legit. my buddy inquired last year about one of those deals just to see whats up and they changed there story like 3 times and finally said well just send me half as a down payment and then when you get the bike you can send the rest. only way id even remotely consider it is if it was set up with a legitimate reputable escrow company, witha legitimate working telephone number and address that can be verified, that you personally picked out and checked on. that way if you no get bike they no get money. be careful they been running this scam for years on ebay so it must be working

yeah these folks are all over the place...ebay usually thwarts them if u bring it up to their attention. however, they are in local ad papers such as pilotonline. they will say that yo'll have your bike in 7 days which is bs because it takes at least 30 days for something that big to go thru customs and checks.

first thing they'll say is you'll have to wire the money to a "reputable" third party hence giving you a false sense of security. once they have your money there's no way in hellyou're getting it back and there won't be a bike at your house either. freakin bastards...i'd like to run them down with my suv some day.

 

thanks guys for yall's input, i was talkin to the guy today and i asked him for a legal document of sale, and he wasnt goin for it. so i guess i'll stick state side hehe

but people search ends up with the same name and address in germantown,MD

should see if some one who lives up north can run by this address and check it out

 

had a guy come in the other day getting gear for an F4i that he bought over seas that he was waiting to get, needless to say three days later he had realized it was a scam

 

aawww man that sucks. he must have felt like shi* .
