grinding noise.
just recently purchased a 1999 civic si. it sounds like something is grinding on the rear brake rotor. its a metal grinding on metal noise. just wondering if anyone had any input before i take the wheel off and tear everything apart. thanks in advance.

Don't know much about Civic's, but a lot of cars have a metal dust shield behind the rotor. That could be bent against the rotor causing your noise. I would check the pads too before you need new rotors.

well, i didnt discover what the grinding is, however, i did discover that the bolt that holds the bottom of my coilover on to the control arm isnt there any more. the fork is basically resting on the control arm. perfect.
