Painting RSX-S Headlights
My 03 RSX-S comes with a chrome-ish housing headlights, but i wanted the black housing headlights. My friends and i did some research about painting the housing. apparently if u put the headlights in the oven it will melt the sealant and they can be pulled apart and painted for the cost of paint. My first question is HAS ANYONE DONE THIS? next did it actually look good?
Here's where we found instructions:

my friend craig did it to his rsx a long while back, pretty sure he just pulled the covers off somehow and taaped it up and sprayed it, and Imo it looked way better. but I sure as hell wouldnt put them in the oven, use a heat gun dude. oven just sounds like a horrible idea

Re: Painting RSX-S Headlights
It's not hard, you just have to be very careful. The point is that you're getting the sealant up past it's flow temp but well below the softening temp of the headlight plastic. It really only takes enough heat to be able to pull the housing apart, which doesn't take much. Heat guns can be more dangerous because the heat is higher and more focused, so whatever you do just be careful and use common sense.
