I needed a new car that was cheap and low on miles and I ran into a 2005 Nissan Altima 3.5LSE last week and bought it. These things have 250hp which I didn't know untill last week. I've had it for 5 days now and I love it. I don't have much complaints about it. The only real complaint I have about it is that it's a FWD car. But other than that it didn't cost me much money, it's cheap to maintain, and most of all is that I can afford the insurance and since I'm 18 I can't afford expensive insurance.

 

250 out of 3.5L is nothing.

 

It's not like It's a G35 or 350Z.

I know... that's probably why i can afford the insurance.

in another year I'm thinking of getting a 350 or G35... When I can afford it.

Just make sure if it hasent already been done. You take it to nissan and make sure the recalls are up to date. They have a rear suspension recall as well as crank and cam sensor problems due to a ecm update. I work at nissan of newport news and we just started sending out letters to customers with any recalls. You would be suprised the ammount of cars around here with open recalls on them. And besides if you decide to bring it to a dealership its free to check for them and free to perfrom them. Hell you may even get a rental car at your request just for the inconvenience.

 

Keep the altima, theres too many people on here that put a cheap, crappy sounding exhaust on their 350's and G35's and think they are fast. Do something different.

 

I have one and love it. I'll explain later on all the things too look out for. I gotta run right now though.

I don't like those maxima wheels. I like the SE-R rims... i might get them when i can afford them.

mine isn't that sporty though. It's defiantly a sleeper for a cheap sedan.

The Altima SER rims are hard to come across for cheap. There is a set for sale on NissanClub right now. I wasn't that big on the Maxima rims either but at the time they only cost me a bottle of Patron and I needed new tires so I couldn't complain. Your 5 spokes are the OEM rims I love but they wont clear maxima brake calipers which will probably be my next cheap mod.

 

I've got the 2.5 SL. I just bought it and I love it to death. We should have an Altima meetup! (Or at least a Nissan meet...)
