Electrical Problem
I was riding my R6 the other night on the interstate and it just cut off, the lights were blinking etc. So the highway assistance people gave me a jump and my bike started and I hurried home. I replaced the battery and rode for a few days and it happened again. I'm thinking it's something like an alternator but I don't think bikes have alternators, I'm not sure? I don't know much about bikes. Some friends have mentioned my stator may be going bad...is that something that can easily be replaced? Any ideas...I know it could probably be a number of things, but sometimes taking it to the shop can get costly or is there any one up here pretty comfortable with working on bikes? Let me know, thanks!!

Re: Electrical Problem
it's either the stator, or the voltage reculator/rectifier.
there's only 3 parts to the charging system, and you've already replaced one. 9 times out of 10 it's the reg/rec, but a stator is a possibilty too.
if you have access to a voltmeter, you can check the stator output and that'll let you know if it's bad or not. there's no real easy way to test a reg/rec though.

Re: Electrical Problem
i'd be willing to bet it's the reg/rec though. be happy if it is, it's alot less work, and cheaper.
true, the only one's worse are f2's, f3's, and 900rr's.
