Me, too! Will likely get colder for the next few races, though, but so long as it doesn't rain, should be great for those of us on street tires Hopefully we don't have the issues of one race late last year where the days got shorter, we ran late one day, and sun went down before the last heat finished, sitting right on the horizon just where you needed to look to make the final turn to the finish...

I think you'll like ACU4- better pavement, less grass, and much larger/faster courses. There will be a formal novice walk-through, but it will help if you have a chance to walk it a few times prior. (The more times you walk, the easier it will be to remember it.) Most people try to picture themselves in the driver seat and walk the course where they'll be in the driver's seat, so you can get a pretty good idea of where you want to be by watching others. TSCC has been arranging for instructors to ride with novices now, too, which really seems to be helping a lot of people
MWR always cooks burgers & sausages for lunch, so bring a few bucks for that. You'll have some time to kill during the heats you're not working or driving; a lot of people bring a chair and hang out on the dunes to watch. Don't be afraid to ask for ridealongs!
And most importantly- make sure you're all on the base access list by Wednesday; once it's sent to the base, it's too late- if you don't have a government ID, you won't be allowed on base.

what are the rules for ride alongs? i read somewhere in the myriad of autocross websites that ride alongs don't count towards your timed runs. this could have very well been a differnt club site i stumbled across looking for information.
is there any additional steps required for this?
