22LR laws?
Hey guys, Im just wondering what the laws are on shooting my new .22LR rifle. I have a metal spinner target or two and some bottles and such. i wanted to know, can i set up in my back yard? (my back yard faces a lake and then thick woods beyond that). or do i need to go find some woods somewhere to shoot? I wanna know because all the ranges around here are indoor handgun ranges and the only place near me is lafayette gun club and its members only. other than that, A&P arms in virginia beach is the only other place, and with the gas prices out there now and the cost of their range fee and targets etc, its way too expensive to go plinking 45 mins away. help/ideas anyone? Im in yorktown..

Re: 22LR laws?
I think the law was like 100yards from humans
dont quote me, been like 4 years since i was into guns.
.22s arent loud, so I'de say go for it, if anyone comes say its a BB gun and hide it lol

most ranges you can shoot a 22 riffle, its not like its super loud and powerful.
at superior pawn shop in va beach you can shoot shot gun indoor, and every range ive been to in hampton roads you could shoot a 22 rifle.
