Anyone who has delt with lake ridge auto care knows what im talking about....i used to work there and i know some other people that work there get on here and probably will get offended...but i really dont care. Any customer that goes into the shop for work such as brakes and things of that nature where given to general service techs....i cant tell you how many come backs in a month we had. the customers where charged for ASE techs to do the work...parts are marked up 50 to 60 percent...customers where paying 2 hours labor for a brake job that took general service guys 30 to 35 minutes.the general service guys get 5 to 10 dollars comission for doing the work. the customers are getting ripped off bad. so its costing the shop next to nothing for parts and paying the general service guy 10 bucks an hour and giving them 10 dollars for doing the work...so the shop is paying general service techs 20 bucks to do the work and charging customers 275-350 depending on what kind of vehicle it is and the parts normally are 35 percent discount through the shop. give you an example...i bought new rotors and pads for my DA and it ran me 45 bucks for everything and had them on in 30 minutes. same kind of car comes in and the customer was charged 300 bucks for 45 dollar parts and took a GS guy 30 mintues....shit is crazy..the service writers(other then doug and andrew) dont know shit about anything....hell the manager doesnt even know how to mount and balance a tire or how to plug a tire....dude got his job because his uncle runs the place...if anyone has any problems with there vehicle please by all means dont go to lake ridge auto care...the ASE techs they are are amazing people and are good at what they do when they do it...you are paying out the ass for work that isnt being done by the right people...beware

 

sounds like a shit place to get serviced.....but a great place to work.

HAHAHAHAH so you think that if a car goes to the dealer/any shop to get the brakes changed that you get a ASE certified mechanic to do it every time? If that is what helps you sleep at night then yea the mechanic was ASE certified and a specialist on just installing brakes ! Also do you have any idea what chiltons time is? I am not saying that the shop you are talking about dont add extra shit to make the bill go up but that is how mechanics make there money. It is fair to charge 2hrs if that is what the book calls for even if only takes 20 min. But on the flip side I have seen where something goes wrong and if the time books calls for 2 hrs and it takes you 3hrs you just worked for free for an hr. And trust me that does happen. Also I bet if you go to the ford dealer(or any dealer for the matter) I bet not even 10% of them are ASE certified and I know this for a fact because I have worked at more than one.Like I said its business!

 

it doesnt matter. shit is wrong and you know it...i know its business. but when you have customers hitting other people because their brakes fail(happened twice) then you tellme its business

 

Did I say anything about some jackass putting on brakes wrong? Let me answer that for you NO Only thing I said anything is about labor and cost

 

Standard operation at most automotive service locations. There's nothing new going on.
