April 12 Car Show Stafford County
Hey guys,
It is time for the 2nd Annual SkillsUSA Car show held at North Stafford High School.
The show is April 12th, with a rain date of April 19th.
Registration is $15.00 at the door (no pre-reg. this year) and is to help raise funds for the Student Vocational Programs. First 100 cars will recieve a custom dash plaque!
We held this show last year with great success! Over 70 quality vehicles showed, with over 25 awards given out. This year we are going bigger, with more prizes. We use a tiered prize system (so Best in Show does not automatically win their class and Best Paint, etc). The prizes get spread out to increase everyone's chances.
The address is 839 Garrisonville Road (Rt 610) in Stafford, VA 22554. (540) 658-6150 Ask for Susan Caldwell or Kenny Johnson.
Registration begins at 8am, closes at 11am. Awards will be around 1:30pm, show ends by 3pm.
This year's show is sponsored by the National Guard who will be bringing their portable rock climbing wall & show humvee.
There will also be demonstrations by the Stafford K9 Unit, the Stafford Mobile Command Center and the Fairfax police motorcycle unit. A live DJ will be providing the sounds and games with prizes through-out the day.
Food will be grilled up and cold drinks will be available all day long.
This year we are doing a "People's Choice", "Best in Show", "Best Paint", as well as the top three in each class. The first place winners of each class will receive a custom plaque that will have their car as the background photo. There will also be a few "judges" awards to recognize additional vehicles.
All vehicles welcome. The classes are simplified: 1969 or Earlier, 1970-1982, 1982-New, Modifieds (all years), Trucks (all years), and Motorcycles.
Come on out to this community event!

Re: April 12 Car Show Stafford County
Hey Guys,
Thanks for those that came out: Ryan, did you make it? I didn't see ya.
We had a decent turn out for the weather; overcast and spitting drops a few times during the day. All the radios and weather channel were reporting that it was raining.
Oh well, we had over 85 vehicles on display. We also gave out some custom awards, like Best Paint, Best Custom, Best "in progress", etc. We also had over $1,000 in prizes, so for a second show things are looking good.
Next year's show (3rd Annual) is April 4th 2009, same place. We're going to do a top 25 next year, and still give out the custom awards, as well as Best in Show and People's Choice.
