Default Idle problems (95 civic)

-When I first start my car, the RPM's jump up and down for the first few minutes until the car is warmed up.
-Then after the car is warmed up, it misses (putters) and it seems that it is idling very low, almost to a point to shut off. It also begings puttering when I try to accelerate.
-And then finally, sometimes after heavy acceleration it will idle around 3k RPMs. At this point, it is idling so high I don't even need to press the gas to move, I litteraly only lift up on the clutch and it will slowly begin moving.

I was thinking maybe the puttering could be the spark plugs, but I can't find my tools to check. But would spark plugs cause it to lose power (stutter) during acceleration?

Any help/suggestions will be appreciated.

Could be one of two things. Either a bad coil. Sounds like the same thing my car was doing when my coil was going bad. replace and runs great or your fitv needs to be re-tightened. here is a link on how to fix that. http://www.emotors.ca/Articles/97.aspx Your fitv is located on the bottom side of your throttle body

What is done to the car? Does it have a swap. Cuz i just did a mini me swap into mine and have the EXACT same problems. My cam timing is 4.5 degrees off and that is causing my problems.

Timing will also cause the problem, but usually has a bouncy idle.

Well I just had the motor installed a few months ago, but it's the same motor (D15b). The only thing done to it is that it has a short ram intake.

With my cam timing off like that, it starts up and stays at like 3000 and then warms up, bounces between 1500 and 2500 and then goes to the really low idle like he is speaking of. Then if you run it a little bit hard, it starts the bouncy idle again, that is why I believe his timing might be off. Thats all. Let us know if you fix it and how you did it.
