Default New car suggestions..

Well ill be starting full time soon and Ill be wanting to purchase my first *newer* car. Ill also want money left over for a very decent appartment or townhome rent. Ill be making in between 38-42k annual. I want something I could mod but also leave mostly stock and still really enjoy. I dont often carry more than one person around. I like straightline power but not as much as I enjoy being able to take corners, and high rpm's always make me happy because i love the sound of the engine. what car/cars could yall reccomend? I dont want a killer car payment or insane insurance. 21 yr old male clean driving record btw. I was thinking the following cars initially...

EVO 8 or 9
S2000
SRT-4

i was 19 when i got my s2k. my driving record wasnt horrible, but not great and the best i could find was 250 a month for full coverage. s2k's are great. everyone and there uncle has one on drag now. i miss mine every day its sunny out. they are very easy to mod, you dont HAVE to do anything to enjoy it. parts are expensive but not too bad.

evos are cool but sti's are better. (imo) and i wouldnt get an srt4 cause its a neon, but i do respect the power they make.

Get a nice used car. I will never buy a "new" car again. Look at an older C5 vette. Evo and Sti's are decent too. Even an early 90's 911 would be affordable.

From your choices, I'd go with the S2k. I thought about buying one of those instead of the M coupe. The S2k is a great car that doesn't need any suspension upgrades. If practicality is important (doesn't sound like it) go with an STI over an Evo. Just personal preference, I guess.

the evo and sti don't need suspension upgrades either. The s2k IS a nice car but it's ungodly small and uncomfortable as hell IMO. I felt clausterphobic when I drove one with the top up. but that's just me. Plus if you like your friends riding with you, the evo and sti are 4 door. s2000 is too little and it's like the new damn civic or sumthin. lol

Thanks for suggestions so far. I had the chance to ride in an STi and I wasnt impressed. I was hoping that an EVO would offer a bit of a better impression. As for C5 vette's and Porche's wouldnt insurance kill on one of those? as well as price tag? also, i guess i never imagined myself in a vette. Ive always liked them, and admired them from a distance. I guess i need to ride in/drive a slightly modded s2k to see what its really like. Im a fairly large guy at 6'2 245 lbs. I like the 4 doors of the evo and sti, but dont really like the way the sti looks.

Go the the dealership and check out the Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) cars. They are all inspected, everything is brought up to par and you get a 6 year/100,000 mile warranty. I'd check out an 02-03 330Ci if I were you.

Hell, there's like 5 people on this forum that work at Checkard Flag and could hook you up most likely.
