i just recently had pod guages installed on my car and my battery went dead i thought it could have just been the battery so i went out and got a new one well now the new is doing the same thing idk whether its the alternator or whether i have a bad....all these problems just started.....i just noticed that the only ground under the hood i see is from the tranny area to the side of where the tranny mount bolts up

Re: ground problem??
Run the car and take the terimnal of the battery. If your car dies, then you have a alt problem(or a wiring problem)
What kind of battery are you buying? Autozone?
What alt are you using? Autozone?

Re: ground problem??
All these problems just started when you installed the gauges. Look there first. Get a multimeter that can read current (the multimeter goes inline between power and the gauge in this case) and see if there is any current draw with the car off. I'm guessing you'll either find a bad gauge or a wiring problem.
Its also possible you've pinched a wire when the pod was installed.

Re: ground problem??
So you haven't tried to disconnect power to the gauges, and you're still wondering why you're having problems...? I'm sure your alternator and battery are fine, you just have a wiring problem with the gauges I'm willing to bet..
If you just did some electrical work in your car, and now you're having problems, look first at the electrical work you just did.

Re: ground problem??
it is most likely from the pod.... disconnect that thing... see what happens... I would've done that first before taking off the alternator... that is too much work compared to disconnecting the pod....
