Pre-owned Car question (legal question)
I am wondering if anyone knows any laws about a dealership selling a once wrecked, now repaired, car, without informing the purchaser that it had been in accident? Do the dealerships have to disclose certain information about a car before selling it? Or, are they under no obligation to inform you that car you purchased was damaged, and repaired?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Or, if someone can point me in the right direction to talk to someone who knows. Thanks in advance.

Re: Pre-owned Car question (legal question)
Nope, at least thats waht salesman said from dealership i work at. I dont see how they can be legaly forced to disclose this type of info, mainly because a lot of times they may not know for sure themselfs. But most of the time they do know, people at my place have a gadget that measures paint thickness so that you can see if there is a significant difference. Which gives a hint where to look for signs of body work.Thats why taking a car to get inspected is a must no matter where you are buying it.

If I remember correctly from my insurance adjuster days damage doesn't have to be disclosed unless it's 5% of the vehicles value or more.
