Just an FYI for anyone who's had their bike hit or pushed over
Just FYI.
I only have liablity isurance and was PISSED when I walked outside to see my bike knocked over.
Well long story short VA insurance forces every VA driver to have uninsured motorist insurance. I called my insurance after the officer said it "might" be covered under that.
WELL.....
IT WAS! With only a 200 dollar deductable it's covered which made me more than happy to find out I don't have to put 1500 into my month old motorcycle.
If you want to see the damage go to my LOCKED thread and view the damage.
All in all it sucks to have to drop 200 bucks when I didn't plan on it but better than having to skimp on fixing it because I can't afford to do it right.
Hope this helps others out there that may not know.

Re: Just an FYI for anyone who's had their bike hit or pushed over
it's a 2007 but I bought it used and only had it for less than a month now. Insurance didn't like the fact that I had a claim in less than 55 days or somethin like that but they didn't even give me the option of uninsured motorist coverage the first time I called. They said "It seems you only have liability insurance so there is no comprehensive to cover the damages".
Then I called back and brought up the uninsured and they were like "Oh! yes that could be covered under that let me send it to the underwriters and make sure"
Called back two days later because they never callled me back the next day like they said they would and the person said they had tried to contact me (that's a lie) and that it looked as though it would be covered.
SO basically unless you KNOW about the uninsured motorist part of the insurance they will never suggest it to you as an option.
I know plenty of people that have been hit by an uninsured driver and end up footing the bill because they either don't know about this part of their insurance and don't even call in the first place or thier insurace doesn't offer it to them if they do call just to see.

I have State Farm. Who is your insurance provider? I guess it doesn't matter since we all have to have uninsured coverage. I am just worried about the possible day that my bike gets pushed over and they tell me "let me check with our backwriters to see if it's covered" and then they tell me it's not.

it should be covered no matter what insurance company you have. They just don't like you to know about the uninsured part so YOU have to be the one to bring it up. I have GEICO.
Just got my check today. 1268 bucks haha. Thats after my 200 dollar deductable.
