So you wanna lift your truck...
This thread is a spin off of the "getting a lift done" thread that had some good discussion about the various ways to do a lift on a truck. Feel free to post info in here about how to lift a truck based on its intended use. Make sure to state the intended use first.

Re: So you wanna lift your truck...
Looking at 3.5 RE suspension lift for my TJ with some 33 inch mud terrains. Plan on mild/medium duty trail riding and driving on the beach in OBX.
Later down the road
Skid plates and a tummy tuck
Bumpers and winch
gears and lockers
How it sits now. Only had it a month so stuff should start happening soon.

Re: So you wanna lift your truck...
Daily driving/ light to medium trail riding. Very limited sand.
approx. 2" torsion bar lift in the front
2" add-a-leafs rear
1" body lift
body seam flattened on the front and very limited trimming in the front
33x12.50-15 Truxxes MT stuff to the bump stops with no rubbing at full lock
The truck went every where I cared to take it at Crozet. The #1 improvement as far as offroad performance that I did was the aussie locker. The truck goes places in 2wd with the locker that it wouldn't go in 4x4 with no locker.

Re: So you wanna lift your truck...
Samurai here: daily driver but likes to get down once every now and then. Sees some mountain trails with semi steep climbs and some technical rocks. Also sees a good amount of deep mud.
SPring Over Axle lift with taller shackles and new leafs. 5.12 gears front and rear. 33x12.50 mud terrains.
If I could do it all over again I would have waited for YJ springs instead of getting the CJ's and would have gotten some tsl super swampers or something a little more agressive than the bfg muds.

Never got stuck. Actually got my 'Hummer resque squad' sticker after pulling one out.

Re: So you wanna lift your truck...
Nice pictures but you must not have read the thread. What kind of lift (not brand) and what the truck is used for. This post is to let people know that are getting into offroading what different types of lifts are out there. Posting pictures of BGT's with no explanation doesn't help.

Re: So you wanna lift your truck...
mud/offroad only
53" long stock rear springs swapped to front front and shackle reversal (shackles moved to front of spring) and rear shackle flip + added leafs (about 5.5-6 inches of lift)
3 inch body
(offroad only not street legal) 7 inch blocks front rear (1/2 plate top and bottom full welded and bolted in with 3/4 and 1 inch grade 8 bolts, no way to kick out like normal blocks) and front and rear ladder bars
17.5-25's (53x17.50 on 25 rims)
