Tires questions and more
Hello everyone. Does the front tire have to match with the make of the rear tire? I also need to change my chain, it's got almost 12k on it. Anything place or anything you guys would recommend for the chain? I already check my sprocket, they look fine. Thanks.

Re: Tires questions and more
I strongly suggest matching the tires for the simple reason that the tread pattern and compounds are different and will handle at different rates. As far as a chain goes, as long as its a O or X ring chain youll fine...DID, RK, etc.

Do the chain and tires yourself..............
My advice would be that if you are replacing the chain that you also replace your sprockets. They wear together.

If you (or someone you know) is in the Military; the Hobby Shop on Oceana has the adapters for motorcycle rims for the tire changer.

I would only do the chain if you have a proper riveting tool and someone that knows what they are doing to show you, once you've been shown how to do it once it seems like common sense, but some of the tool kits have like 20 parts and if you've never done it its easy to install it wrong and it look right... working at a dealer i've seen way too many chains break to remember only to find out it was from them improperly installing a rivet link
most shops are going to charge you 15-60 on the chain, probably 15-30 for the tire change if you pull the wheel off yourself, or 30-60 to change it if you bring in the whole bike

Thanks for the advice, but I would rather not work on my bike. I don't have anyone to show me. I guess I'll just have to pay for everything. I think I'll just take it to Coleman Powersport up here in NOVA.
