Any construction or flooring people in 757 have experience w/ asbestos in flooring?
My house was built in '88 so it "shouldn't" have any asbestos in the vinyl sheet flooring I'm ripping up, but now all the crap I've read in the internet has me worried. Anyone know if houses built around here in the late 80s sometimes snuck in asbesos products?

From what I have read, even if asbestos tile made it to the 80's it is still a low risk since it is encapsulated in the tile.
I wouldn't worry about it. Probably have a better chance of keeling over reading this post. Take your meds. Your being paranoid.

That's true... but I'm 1/2 way through peeling up the vinyl flooring and scraping up the residue.

My quick Google search says that only one manufacturer made asbestos flooring by 1980, and I doubt you have any unless your flooring sat in a warehouse for 8+ years.

clean as you go and keep it wet is what they try to get through your head during asbestos class(i went to the supervisor class 5 days, 8hrs a day)
