99 vw bug.i just raplaced the radiator got everything back together and now the fuckin hood dont lock down,lookin on a couple forums this is a commom issue.does any1 kno how to or kno some1 that can adj. this thing properly so i can get it out my shop.i been messin with the shit for 6 hrs.

 

Loosen the latch bolts and move it up a little bit.

 

did you take the hood all the way off so the hinges may need adjusting or just the latch?

 

If you go the zip tie route, don't go over the High Rise Bridge in Chesapeake. Your hood WILL fly up.

i moved em to the hight point and still no luck. i didnt mess with the hood at at all.just removed the front clip cause that has to come off to replace the rad. i done adj, shut adj. and shut the hood so many times it crazy

 

Plastic safety latch maybe?

loosen the latch bolts again, and pound it from underneath to get it to come up some more?

 

Make sure the latch cable didn't catch when you pulled it open?

You might have to work the release lever inside to get the cable to return properly, even if the lever returns normally as is.

 

It's probably in the unlock position..leave the hood up and see if it locks with a screwdriver...if not then the latch is still unlocked...spray a ton of wd40 on it

 

just get hood pins and be super jdm
