Good starter bike. But nothing to race on, it'll tank slap at fast speeds. It's good for in town riding. I think blue book is like $1500 or so.

you may hit 100mph with a good tail wind but for around town its a decent little bike. Really light and easy to maneuver. Tons of spare parts because its been made the same for so long. I wouldn't worry about the mileage because you'll be bored with it years before anything goes wrong and 1800 miles is nothing. BTW I'd only pay like $1800 for it

Re: Questions about 250R
i've had 600's, a 750, 1000's with 170hp and i have to say a ninja 250 is probably my favorite bike i've ever owned... i probably wouldn't want to have it as my only bike today, but along with another bike i'd take another one in a heart beat, and if it was a first bike i'd definetly recommend it... plus there is such a demand for them you can sell them in a heart beat... and yea as far as mileage, unless you buy it, ride it every single day as your sole transportation for 10 years you'll never see the end of its mileage

To give you another example to go by I bought my '99 500R last August with 16k miles for 2k
I was going to get a 250R but with all the interstate riding and highway riding I do I'm glad I started on thr 500.

Re: Questions about 250R
the one i had was pretty rough and had high miles, so i never took it over 80ish, but a friend had one, pretty new, really low miles and a bunch of us took off on the interstate and he was going like 120 and blew a spark plug right out the head, ripped out the threads, anything can blow up at any time, so not saying thats normal but its my only experience of a ninja 250 that went over 100

Re: Questions about 250R
Kelli's was virtually brand new, no problems at all doing over 100mph. They're great little bikes for the money. But I wouldn't reccomend one for a normal sized male. If you're really short and small then go ahead and get one. If you're a short girl I would reccomend it to you as well.
But I look like a circus freak on it and I'm only 6ft at 215lbs!!!
