Default Zoo in Chesterfield?

Has anyone been there?
How big is is it?
A lot of animals?
Worth going to?
We are looking at going this weekend and trying to get some feedback. The website they had wasn't helpful.

Thanks

Are you talking about the metro richmond zoo off of Hull St? If so, I have been there a few years ago and it was pretty nice. Not a huge zoo, but they have a decent setup.

That be the one. I have heard a few good things and some bad. We are contemplating going to the DC Zoo.

I've taken my kids to the Richmond Zoo several times and they always enjoy it...isn't that the main reason for going? It is very good for spending a few hours of quality time with your kids.

Now if you want an all day trip, then I suggest going to the DC Zoo. You just won't find enough to keep you busy at Richmond.

I went to the one off Hull St. when it first opened up several years back.
I thought it was alright, they had a cool monkey castle and some penguins, but I don't remember much else.

The Metro Richmond Zoo won't compare to DC but its still nice. Last summer I went to the Richmond zoo and it seemed like they had added alot of new animals since the last time I had been there(2-3 years ago).

if you're going to a zoo for a zoo's sake, i will give another vote for the national zoo... maybe make a weekend out of it and see the other sights DC has to offer.
