Default Turbo Lude vs. 05 SRT4 ACR

Well, finally got a decent run in with a decent car, at the dragstrip of course..

My friend just got an 05 SRT4 ACR, its damn nice, I want it. But anyways, we decided to run.. I had a huge disadvantage.. no LSD, 205 SHITTY OEM tires haha.. he had LSD and BFG 225's of course.. I was sure he was going to pull on me, I was thinkin a car and a half or two.. We launch, he pulls 3/4 or so of a car on me in first gear pretty quick, I have no traction, second gear, no traction but I still pull up a tad on him, third gear I pulled even and maybe a bumper on him, this is a CLOSE ass race, its so weird seeing it b/c you can see the different power curves of the car, we would pull on each other during different parts of each gear clearly.. Shift to 4th and we are back even again, then I pull maybe a 1/4 car on him if that, I barely edged past. We let off and pull over to talk. I was so excited haha I had no idea I would have done that, for some reason he felt the same way, he thought I would have smashed him hahaha..

Can't believe I edged over this car, condisering I am running 5 psi with NO intercooler, and to top that I am still untuned running stupid rich(very visible blackish/grey exhaust at full throttle/shifts) and very conservitive timing..

So I must be puttin down some wicked numbers for just 5 psi, it has to be well into the 220-230+ whp range, which is pretty much unheard of at that low boost level, since we both weigh about the same(damn heavy ass lude). Finally ordered a wideband, zeitronix zt2, so maybe I will get a little more power out of her and turn it up to 7-8 psi..

All in all, I guess it was a pretty much dead even race, but I DID make up ground, which is hard as shit to do, and I edged out a tad in the end

Not to down you but i seriously doubt you're putting down 220-230 whp on 5psi of non-intercooled boost. I'm not terribly familiar with H series engines but doesn't the H23 put down only like 150 - 160 or somethign like that stock? I think your winning has alot to do the neon drivers inexperience with the car than anything. I've driven Jesse's SRT plenty of times and have a hard time adjusting to the car. Race the guy again in a few weeks when he gets used to shifting that beast and he'll probably pull on you a bit. But if you'd just buy an intercooler and tune that damn thing for 7-8 psi it could be interesting And don't worry about blowing it up,, just an excuse for you to build it bigger and better.

Either way good kill!

Yea I don't see how I could be putting down that much power either thats what I am sayin! I know he can drive it good, I've ridden with him in it before though, he has had it for almost a month or so I'd say.. I asked him last night if he was runnin it hard, and he said he was runnin it all the way to 6k and his shifts were quick so

When its full throttle in 4th gear there isnt much to it and I still pulled, your guess is as good as mine..

But its suprising the difference between different turbo setups can be on the same car.. If I had an FMU, log manifold, small turbo, shitty exhaust then that would have probably changed things.. I have a pretty decently designed manifold(copy off the SFP tubular manifold), a decent sized turbo, better management, and a 2.5" turbo back exhaust with external dump WG..

I've seen d series engines be vary as much as 30+ whp differneces at the same low psi depending on the whole setup

Hrmm. I know how much of a difference nice setups can make but did'nt you say that your on a less than optimal tune? And even on a perfect tune and a great setup i don't see you making that much power non-intercooled on 5 psi. How much is a stock H23 supposed to make?

I still think it has to be the SRT driver. Was he holding his boost through his shifts? Race jesse and see how well you hang with him. Either way, bring your car and the ACR down here someday, i wanna see both in action.

So True lol Jesse will bust that shit even with them small tires. Almost can say even with the small tires Jeese can edge the ACR. Just cause I know Jesse be driven balls out. Never know til we know

Yea I am on an overly safe tune I guess you could say.. its rich, but correct timing unlike an FMU.. I don't think not having an intercooler one run on 5 psi would create much of a problem for heat, but I dunno.. NA I was prolly around 150 whp, so 10+ hp per psi isnt out of the question at all imo.. plus I am 9.8:1..

He shifted plenty fast, no granny shifts or anything lol, we were racing.. I mean we were nose and nose, really close, when we both got into fourth gear.. I didn't gain any ground during shifts, I clearly pulled on him in the middle/end of fourth gear, there really arent any driver variables here thats the thing.. I'll race Jesse, and I am sure I'll lose tho haha, this SRT4 was stock and Jesse said he was trapping 83, thats pretty damn good. I'm up for anything though..

Regardless of how much hp I am putting down(I dunno maybe I am a tad lighter?I thought SRT4's weigh around the same), I definitely was nose and nose and edged out last night..

there's no excuses anymore for guessing on power, when you get the wb I bet it wouldn't take more than 3 or 4 pulls to get your uberdata tuned on the dyno.

there is no excuse for not knowing what you are putting down anymore. two dynos locally and you aint gotten a baseline? shit....i got a baseline pull on a shitcan four banger automatic mustang.....drove three hours to get it too

of course, i just went to SATS...and made a pull for shits and giggles.
