Where can I get a loan?
Does anyone have any advice for getting a loan with a reasonable interest rate? I'm trying to get a loan for less than $5,000 -- maybe even less than $4,000, but have been turned down due to insufficient credit. Not necessarily BAD credit, just not ENOUGH credit.
I've applied for a second credit card and had the same thing happen. I'm trying to build my credit up but that doesn't work when everyone denies you for not having enough credit.. lol. I've got a credit card, and my car loan which will be paid off within the year hopefully. What are my options, aside from waiting? I'd like to take out a loan by the end of July at the very latest.
Thanks for any advice....

American General Finance. Thier rates are a bit high, but they will finance just about anyone in one day. I wouldnt expect to get a good rate if your credit is less than stellar.

have you called your bank? I'm sure if you've done well on your car loan they'd have no problem helping you. Well, i gues it depends on what your taking it out for.
Never missed a payment on my car. I put half down on the friggin' thing. Credit report shows one credit card payment being 30 days late but that's being disputed.

Would you believe that Bad credit is better than having little credit history at all....

Unfortunately, it's hard to establish credit with little to none. Strange, isn't it? Everyone says "you don't have enough credit" but you can't get more credit if everyone turns you down for not having enough credit.

Gotta start small, get a small co-signed loan with your parents and just spend the money on whatever, and make the payments back, using the FULL DURATION of the loan, paying off early doesnt help as much as going the full term. Get a store credit card and buy stuff on it and make the payments on time. Once you have good credit established, I HIGHLY recommend paying off the cards/loans and paying cash for everything that you can. CREDIT IS EVIL!!! Seriously
