Anyone else done V-mount?
Has anybody else done V-mount intercooler set-up..whether it be custom or the kit?
V-mount is amazing
I chose the custom route about a month ago which cost me 50 dollars (to get the endtanks on my r33 ic re-positioned) and 15 dollars for aluminum flashing. I'll put up some pictures tomorrow if i can remember...
The spool time dropped dramatically, and the temperatures stay very cool..I was a little skeptical about having the intercooler in the engine bay, but after a drift session a few weeks ago, i checked the intercooler temp..not even warm on the fins on the hot pipe side...crazy
When i get the pics up u will see the awesome (haha really ghetto) job on how to keep the ic cool..crazy.

i was wondering about this also, i really want to know how you got the radiator hoses routed correctly. i figured heat soak would be a problem in stop and go situations but then i realized i wouldnt be too concerned with the loss of efficiency running groceries or sitting in traffic. did you use fans to keep the intercooler cool?

oh yeah, sorry bout the pics, been running around a lot, i'll try to get the up today..running the lines for radiator was somewhat odd, but autozone has the flexible lines that are like 3 feet long..two of them worked really well..i only used fans for the radiator..u can feel the flow of the air through the intercooler VERY slightly when the car is sitting still cuz of the fans, but not enough to help it out..i haven't run into any problems yet.. and yeah the spool time was a big benefit...when u look at all the piping it takes to have a front mount it's A LOT..when u look at my piping, my hotpipe is less than a foot long from the hair dryer and my cold pipe is the outlet pipe on the intercooler which is like 4 inches maybe?! lol.. so yeah spool time is very minimal especially for the hair dryer
