BMW CHeck engine

Default BMW CHeck engine

I was wondering if anyone is able to reset my check engine light for me. It came on for oil service but now im unable to get it to go off. SO i figure if i reset it then it will solve the problem. SO if there is anyone in here that has the BMW tool to do it it would be really great if you could help me out. BTW its a 1998 318ti

I have a scanner, but you would have to come to Norfolk. You could Go getto and just disconnect the battery if you dont care what the code is.

This is what I do, not sure if it'll work on yours. Ground PIN 19 in on your OBD for three seconds and the oil service will go off and all of your bars will be reset. If you hold it down for seven seconds, the inspecion will go off.

Damn you all are some GHETTO people............ The person asked if someone could do it for them I would I have the "proper computer" to reset your check engine code and tell you what code you are throwing. I would be more then willing to help you but I am in Germany right now. If it is your check engine light.....which is completely different then your oil service lights which are red, yellow, green on the bottom of your cluster you need to find out what code it is. If nothing else just so you know

Just buy the service reset tool. You will more than likely end up using it again. I know we have em at work, but I cant remember how much.

The older ones are cheaper, for a 98 their looking at about 140-180 from me.
