Default Motor work?

I got my ex's GSX with a bad tick, sounds like it's about to blow up at any min... me and some friends priced out jdm motors and stuff but i think a rebuild would be better and less cash. You get a motor with no miles, also you never really know what shape the jdm motors are in when you order them. I was lookin on the slowboyracing site and saw a nice rebuild kit, but i dont know anyone in the 757 who can do the rebuild for me. Anyone know of a shop around here who knows alot about DSMs? She also has had a few clutch problems, it's been in the shop like 3 times for the same problem.. and it's always 'fixed' but never really seems to last longer then a month. No way in hell is she killing clutchs in a months time. They keep charging her for new parts and never seem to have the 'old' parts when we go to pick up the car so i told her i'd get it fixed out here, richmond is fully of crapy shops, hopping to have better luck here. Any help we can get would be nice, thanks!

people do rebuilds in thier house? hell i'd pay anyone right now, as long as they know what they are doing and can back up thier work. we just need to get this car back on the road, asap.
it'd be nice to have a shop so when things go wrong (if they do) we can take it back..
