Clutch all or nothing cant even slip it?
89 civ dx hatch stock
Recently installed a clutch specialties 6 puck sprung clutch in my 89 hatch.
I bought a 90-91 lightweight flywheel so i could take advantage of the bigger 90-91 clutch,
Had no problems before install but after, when i got in the car and pressed the clutch pedal it was like you could feel when the fingers on the pp were being pushed. At the halfway point of the clutch pedal travel it gets stiff but then lets go like normal.
As far as driving its either engaged or disengaged you cannot slip it at all!! I have to spin the tires just to get going in first then when u shift its like you drop the clutch in between gears on every shift. I cant even get clutch chatter!!!!! It just engages?? They are sending me the 89 setup and im gonna try that. I already tried a new pp and its the same! Any ideas??

Did you read? I cant even get clutch chatter and that is what most people complain about with this clutch. I would have to spin the tires everytime i had to move it forward. I dont see any drag cars spinning tires to get up to the tree at the strip. You cannot ease it at all it drops!!
John (yell88crxsi) felt it and something is wrong!
Anybody with similliar experience?

yes, i can read. there is a possibility the disc is in backwards, but most times that will cause it to not release at all.
however...the way you describe it, its normal actuation, especially if the pressure plate is a Borg and Beck style release (3-6 fingers, instead of a multitude of spring loaded fingers like most standard clutches.)
a puck style clutch is not for street use, and you are a moron for installing it on a stock car.
and drag cars will spin, you just havent looked at the right ones. almost every car i have ever helped build, drive, or fix was in or out, and staging is a complete whore cause of it.

The car is a drag car and need to pull the motor to get rid of the ac and other bs so this was the best time to install the clutch. Oh guess all the race cars ive seen (100s) were different than the right ones you speak of.

hence the *possible* part. it can be done on certain cars, and if the hub was made the right way, it will fit either way.
