titiming or fuel pump problem with my civic!!!
my civic has been having trouble her lately. i have been told its the timming and fuel pump. while i am runnin the car down the road usually at lower speeds.... around 30 mph is when i notice it the most. the engine seems to drop off and the way i get it to go through it is stomp on the gas pedal.. the car will also backfire every once and awhile when this happens? and it dosnt happen every time. i have recently replaced plugs. wires, blaster coil, fpr, fuel filter. i am at wits end and could use some suggestions on what it maybe? any insight would be great!

Backfiring is the telltale sign. Get your timing checked, you may also have a bad distributor that is making the ECU trigger your ignition wrong.

but the only thing is that it happens so infrequently. on the back fire side that is. today it was the roughest i have seen it. but a buddy came over and sprayed intake injector cleaner and it seemed to help it out a bit. i just keep thinkin its the fuwl system alon..... im lost. i will get the timming looked at! thankx

well, you're cars running rich, hence the stumbling and backfiring, and it's rare for the fuel system to break by adding MORE fuel, so that's why Fabrik8 suggested it's probably your ignition system.

well i took the car up to get a diagnostic check and was told that it was the dist. i replaced the dist... and rotror. and today on the way to work it began to spuratic idle... and while i am driving its almost shuddering (for lack of better words) through all gear. high and low. still stuck with no idea whats goin on! hahahhaha all i can do is laugh!

the fault code that is poppin up is "P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected" even after replacing the cap and plugs and rotor..... still stuttering?????? please anyone help!

hahahaha we figured it out....
The signal wires to the Coil were getting in the way of the rotor inside the distributor....lol we got owned by something that we should have double checked when we rewired the Dizzy to the Coil.......
