Can't get registration without emissions, but i have no engine?!
Here's my deal. I just moved up to nova from Blacksburg (Tech Grad). I have an apartment, and just got around to towing my project car up here last weekend. It has no engine in it. I'm working on getting it put together. But, in the meantime, the plates expired in aug. Well, it got towed cause of the plates, and i just got it back. I tried to register it a month ago when it expired, but i guess the DMV website knows I moved, because it asked for a emissions code, from an emission test. Well, I can't register it until I get an emissions test, but i can't get an emissions test till i get the car running, which will take some time. In the meantime, it is sitting back at my place. I just got it towed back from the tow company. Cost a fortune too to get it out. Please help! Is there a way around this? Or a special registration for a non-running car that doesn't require a emissions test? I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks.
