To swap or to wait.
I've been looking for an engine for my 91 CRX SI for a couple of weeks now. My engine overheated and warped the block. I had been looking for a straight forward drop in and was told my only two choices were the original d16a6 and the ZC DOHC motor. Well, I haven't been able to find either and I was offered a complete swap of a 1993 Delsol motor, tranny, wiring harness and installation for $1300.00 I would have to get my own ECU. I was hoping that my other engine would last until I could decide which way I wanted to go with the car. Since most of my buddies have the b16 swap, I kind of wanted to be different but still wanted to be able to hang with them. This swap was never in the cards. However, being that I need my car to be running now, should I do this or just keep looking for something to just drop in until I can do better?
depends... you can make the that single cam motor into a fun ass motor. Stage 2 zex cam with a 50 shot, will have you giving most cars a run for their money. I say go for it.
I really wish I could find the info on the ZC swap. But it is a direct bolt on for you. And you can get ecu tranny, harness and motor for about 650,(thats the info I'm missing).
When I find the site, I'll get back to you. It was a local place too.
